Just days ago, it was revealed that Sonja Morgan‘s iconic townhouse, as seen on Real Housewives of New Yorknow acts as a sober living facility.

Word on the street (literally) is that her former neighbors are disgruntled with the change. In fact, a source told Page Six they wished the RHONY alum still occupied the property.

Plot twist:

Sonja was told the buyer and his wife were planning to live in the townhouse. So, she was as surprised as her UES neighbors to learn the fate of the property.

Needless to say, the luxe Release Recovery facility is “causing quite the stir” in the ‘old money’ neighborhood.

The neighbors miss the days when Sonja was the straw that stirred the drink …

Multiple neighbors spoke to the publication:

  • “There are so many different people going in and out. At first, we didn’t know what was going on. Several neighbors have been talking about it, even the doormen.”
  • “When you walk by the [window to the] foyer, there is a shoe rack with tons of shoes, now it all makes sense.” They added it’s “a disappointment” for people who have to walk their dogs by it daily.
  • Another local, who recently put their townhouse on the market, “fears the sober house may affect the price.”
  • “It has become an issue in the neighborhood. The house is like Grand Central! Sonja should move back.”

New owner, new philosophy:

What was once a party house is now “an outpost of luxe recovery facility.”
