Teddi Mellencamp is dealing with yet another scare as her cancer journey continues.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum — who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after her melanoma metastasized to her brain and lungs — revealed during the Tuesday, Aug. 19 episode of her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod, that she had another melanoma spot removed amid her treatment.
“This is a reminder that even if you have lung cancer, brain cancer, whatever, you still need to continue to get your skin checked, because yesterday I went to get a skin check and I had an abnormal spot,” she shared. “They removed it, they’re sending it in to get checked and make sure it’s nothing."
She continued, “The good news for me — what I’m telling myself — means it’s okay, it’s in a new spot. All of my original melanomas were on my back and this new spot is on my stomach. I just wanted to remind you guys because I hadn’t gone in about six months for a particular skin check.”
Mellencamp was joined by Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Dolores Catania, who was shocked by the news because her friend has been undergoing treatment for cancer.
“You’re like, ‘Oh I’m getting checked,’ but no, you gotta remember, go get your skin checks even if you’re in treatment for something else,” Mellencamp said. “There’s specialty doctors that do specialty things. So I’m really glad I went yesterday, because now we’re on top of it, and it’s gonna alleviate some stress.”
“Well, I'm glad to hear that,” Catania told her. “And yeah, I mean, I guess it makes so much sense to think that because you're at the doctors all the time that the other things that aren't being checked still exist. Wow.”

Mellencamp announced in February that doctors found multiple tumors on her brain after she was struggling with “severe and debilitating headaches” for weeks. She had four large tumors surgically removed on Feb. 12, and shared that her “smaller” tumors would be treated with radiation and immunotherapy.
In April, Mellencamp confirmed that her cancer has reached stage 4 after her melanoma — which she was first diagnosed with in 2022 — metastasized to her brain and lungs.
“Some days I feel really really strong and some days I feel really really sad and alone,” she said at the time. “And I think that’s a normal part of what any of us are going through, and that’s okay. Stage 4 cancer can be scary.”
Mellencamp has since completed radiation and is now undergoing immunotherapy.
