Shock: Katie Thurston ’s Cancer Treatment Turns Deadly—Her Body Is Shutting Down

Katie Thurston fears she may have contracted COVID amid her breast cancer battle.

“Having breast cancer has you literally Googling everything and questioning everything,” the “Bachelorette” alum told fans via her Instagram Stories Friday, adding that she’s “so exhausted” amid her stage 4 diagnosis.

“But this is my off week for my medicine and so this was supposed to be the week where I like recover and start to feel good again and whatever,” she explained, revealing that she ordered a COVID test even though she may be “overthinking” it.

The TV personality then confessed she was “nervous” and became emotional as she asked, “Why am I going to cry?”

“Breast cancer just has you, like, freaking out about everything,” she explained.

“You know, you’re like, ‘Oh, what’s COVID like when you have breast cancer? What’s COVID like when you have low white blood cell counts? Maybe I’m just f–king crashing out. I don’t know guys.”

The reality TV star then shared that she “also ordered ice cream with my COVID test so everything’s going to be OK today.”

In a subsequent slide via Instagram Stories, she shared a snap of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream alongside a COVID test, urging fans to wish her “luck” atop the pic.

Another slide showed the open ice cream carton alongside the COVID test. “No covid,” she wrote atop the photo. “Just a tired hypochondriac with breast cancer.”

Thurston re-posted a social media quote comparing the bodies of people with cancer to “a haunted house.”

“I tiptoe around what is waiting around the corner,” the re-post continued. “Searching for an exit but knowing this house has no doors. Learning to dance with the ghosts.”

Thurston, 34, first revealed her diagnosis via social media in February, telling fans that she was “ready to fight” the condition and admitting she experienced “despair” and “anger.”

“This is day one of sharing and is going to be a long one,” she continued in the lengthy post. “This first step of acceptance of my reality was the hardest. But I am ready to fight this.”

In March, she revealed the cancer had progressed to stage 4 and spread to her liver, and divulged that she married comedian Jeff Arcuri, 37, just before undergoing treatment.
