Bachelor in Paradise couple Sean McLaughlin and Allyshia Gupta have confirmed that they've parted ways and their romantic relationship is over.

Sean and Allyshia, who memorably self-eliminated from Bachelor in Paradise's tenth season and claimed they were "the strongest couple" on their way out, opened up about the demise of their relationship during Part 1 of the Bachelor in Paradise cast's reunion.

"We saw [BIP bartender Wells Adams] for the Fourth of July, so that was fun," Allyshia announced on the September 4 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

"Yes, I hosted you at my country club," Wells noted.

"It was lovely! [Sean and I] definitely left Paradise with a great relationship and continued it on the outside," Allyshia shared.

"But we've kind of been faced with a little bit of distance, I would say. I had some opportunities come up in [Los Angeles] and I pursued them."

Allyshia confirmed, however, that she had "discussed" the California-based jobs with Sean -- who lives in Tampa, FL -- ahead of time.

"I'm not willing to compromise my career goals for a heterosexual man, and Sean supports that," Allyshia explained.

"So we love each other. I think we're the best of friends, and more than anything else, just the best of teammates. We respect and care for one another."

Sean agreed, "Yeah, it was a good run."

Sean confirmed that everything Allyshia said was "correct" and "distance is really tough" when trying to make a relationship work.

"When you put it in the grand scheme of things, of like Paradise, we've known each other for, like, 26 days prior to leaving together," Sean explained.

"And there are certain things within your career or your life that you've got to take advantage of. I mean, opportunities don't happen that often."

Sean pointed out how, at the end of the day, he has his career and Allyshia has hers.

Sean said that while distance made things "tough" for them, they did walk away from Paradise "as the best of friends."

"So I'm very happy to have left Paradise with that," Sean concluded.

Sean and Allyshia self-eliminated at the end of Bachelor in Paradise's August 18 episode after the majority of the Season 10 cast had voted them out.

"Allyshia and I, we're from Tampa, so everyone was talking about, 'Oh, why do you guys need to be here? You should go back together,'" Sean recalled during an August episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

"Everything was stacked against us, so we were f-cked basically."

But Sean and Allyshia walked out of Paradise holding hands.

"When we got sent home, I was so excited. We were going back to Tampa together. We had talked about leaving in a relationship well prior to us getting eliminated," Sean revealed to the podcast's co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt.

"And I think looking back, we were spending every night sleeping in the same room together and had all of those meaningful moments."

Sean shared how he had planned a special date for Allyshia that was never shown on Bachelor in Paradise.

"Even the episode when [Kim Buike] got voted off, I had a mini-date where I was putting the blindfold on her and feeding her chocolates and stuff like that," Sean revealed.

"There were all these integral moments to our relationship that really built it up. You didn't really see that at all, but I was excited! I was like, 'We get to go back and hang out.'"

Sean went on to share at the time, "I thought I found the most amazing person, and I was incredibly excited about our relationship. So yeah, I couldn't wait to get back to Tampa!"

Sean, however, couldn't reveal at the time if he and Allyshia were still together since it would spoil a storyline for the reunion show.

But Allyshia had hinted her romance with Sean was over during an appearance on "The Viall Files" podcast earlier this summer.

Nick's wife Natalie Joy mentioned to Allyshia how Sean had posted a photo of himself giving Allyshia a rose with a sack of money on her head via Instagram Stories.

"I guess he was saying she was only there for the money?" Natalie questioned.

"I took it as he was only coupled up with me for the money, but they, there's that take!" Allyshia quipped.

But Allyshia shared how she had "a very good banter" with Sean.

"We have a good friendship at the foundation of everything, so I just let things roll off my back. That didn't really bother me," Allyshia said.

"I thought it was funny. It's Sean's personality. Also, you want to dig your own grave? Be my guest. I'm not going to stop you. Here's the shovel!"

On Bachelor in Paradise's tenth season, Sean put a target on his back by strategizing and politicking for the potential $500,000 prize. He even tried to form a "Parliament of Paradise" alliance.

Knowing the cast was questioning their character and had turned against them, Allyshia and Sean chose to beat everyone to the punch by self-eliminating.

"We are leaving here with something so much more valuable than money could ever buy and we'll continue on in our relationship in Tampa and get a big, fat bucket of popcorn to watch all this back," Allyshia explained to the cast before leaving.

Sean and Allyshia left Paradise particularly frustrated with Kat, who had appeared to deny her pre-Paradise friendship with Sean.

When Sean and Allyshia returned for the Bachelor in Paradise finale that aired on September 2, they put Kat on blast and accused her of having had a boyfriend back home -- and messaging him -- at the start of filming.
