The 20-year old offensive prospect certainly put up a performance during the New York Rangers first preseason game, and its something that has caught Mike Sullivans attention.
During the first period of the Rangers 5-2 preseason victory over the New Jersey Devils on Sunday, Gabe Perreault managed to score a goal, thanks to a nice feed from Conor Sheary.
Gabe Perreault didn't stop there has he played a very strong game alongside Sheary and Juuso Parssinen, and according to reports it caught Mike Sullivan's attention.
Mike Sullivan Liked The Way Gabe Perreault Performed On Sunday
Following the preseason game, Mike Sullivan spoke out on how he was impressed and liked the way Perreault played.
«I thought Gabe Perreault had a really strong game,» Sullivan said. «He made a lot of plays.»
Certainly something that will be taken into consideration as the Rangers organization will continue to make roster cuts as the 2025-26 regular season quickly approaches, but for now it's safe to say Perreault will have a better chance at earning a permanent spot on the Rangers' opening-night roster.
However, with that being said, the 20-year old prospect knows that it wont be easy and that he needs to prove himself every time he's on the ice if he truly wishes to earn a spot.
