Denise Richards claims her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, has trashed their nearly 7,000-square-foot, million-dollar mansion amid their messy divorce.
As she submitted photos of the six-bedroom, five-bathroom Calabasas, California, home in “disarray” as evidence to back her claims, the 54-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star accused Aaron, 52, his parents, and his brother of “severely” damaging the property.
“Aaron and his parents and brother have severely damaged the [home] and left the house in a state of disarray,” Denise wrote in court documents obtained by Us Weekly on August 26.
Meanwhile, Aaron denied the allegations, and an insider close to him shot down the idea that his family caused any harm to the home. In fact, they stated that Aaron’s family cleaned up the home “a ton” after Denise vacated the property in 2023 and moved into a rented townhome.
In Denise’s photos, messy rooms with stuff on the floor were highlighted, as were torn-up floors and other clutter. However, the insider insisted Aaron was in the midst of replacing the flooring.
As RHOBH fans may have heard, Denise filed documents to have Aaron removed from the home earlier this month, claiming she received a notice from her landlord that eviction proceedings had begun and requesting he leave the property to allow her to collect her pets and other items.
“Aaron and I are still on the lease for the [home]. When I moved out of the [home] over two years [ago], I left many of my personal items and my late mother’s items at the house based on Aaron telling me that his family would be moving back to Canada and we would be moving back into the [home],” she explained. “The landlord has made it clear that Aaron has not been responding to his numerous calls and text messages. If I am not able to retrieve my dogs and belongings, I believe … my property [will be] destroyed or discarded during the eviction process.”
In January, Denise had informed Aaron that he would need to start paying rent “since his family was refusing to vacate the property.”
“I recently learned from the landlord … that in addition to Aaron and his parents not vacating the [home], Aaron has apparently not paid the rent on the [home] and left the house in a state of disarray,” she continued.
A short time later, a judge ruled to allow Denise to return to the property to retrieve her things.
