The cameras are rolling on The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 17. There have been several casting rumors, and one of the most discussed is that singer and former Love and Hip Hop star K. Michelle will be joining the cast. Now, it seems this may be confirmed as a photo has surfaced of her with the cast.
The news of K’s casting came in July when Kenya Moore announced that she had not been asked back. However, she didn’t stop there as she stated that a Love and Hip Hop star would be in the mix with the ladies.
The Bravo Shaderoom shared the photo in question on August 19. In addition to K, it includes Shamea Morton, Kelli Ferrell, and Porsha Williams. In the photo, K is wearing a pair of jeans with a white shirt. Porsha has on a pink dress with floral accents near the top. Shamea is wearing a blue dress, and Kelli opted for a black and white ensemble.
The photo looks to be from an event that they were filming for RHOA. Many fans in the comments had opinions on K’s alleged casting on the show. One person said, “I like K. Michelle and I think she’s extremely talented. This picture looks forced. Even the optics of this cast doesn’t make any sense. I’m picturing the rest of the cast in this photo, and it doesn’t give hit television show.”
That person continued about RHOA, “It gives random women who ended up in a picture together because they happened to be at the same place and there was a camera available.” Someone else said, “I love K Michelle, but casting her was a bad option. Seems like Bravo is using old Love and Hip Hop producers and is lazy at casting picks. The show will definitely get ugly once Porsha and K Michelle clash.”
Someone else defended the casting, saying, “It’s kills me how the whole internet uses K Michelle quotes & memes, but yall don’t think she belongs on RHOA. This is great casting. Smh, do yall watch the other shows? Real Housewives is NOT some highbrow show about being elegant and demure…that’s what yall imagine it’s about.”
Someone else poked fun at their outfits, writing, “Nice Ladies! They all look like they’re attending different events. Brunch, School fundraiser, Wedding, and Church.”
