New York Rangers Shocked: New Coach Mike Sullivan Causes Fierce Controversy After Statements Directly Aimed At Star Adam Fox!

Mike Sullivan and Adam Fox

New York Rangers newest head coach sparks some controversy as he recently calls out star defenseman Adam Fox for not playing to the best of his abilities over the last few seasons.

As the 2025-26 season nears, the New York Rangers and their new head coach Mike Sullivan are looking to make a massive impact after dealing with a very disappointing 2024-25 season.
During last season we all seen the way Fox struggled with the Rangers and even with Team USA at the Four Nations Tournament, where Mike Sullivan served as Team USA's head coach and got a brief chance to see how Fox wasn't playing to his full ability.
Something that has lead Mike Sullivan to essentially call out star defenseman Adam Fox for how he has been playing recently, and stated that the start of the 2025-26 season will determine if Fox will become a Olympian for Team USA during the 2026 Winter Olympic's in Milan.

Here's what Mike Sullivan had to say:
"I'm probably stating the obvious when I say this, but performance matters," Sullivan said. "I think Foxy knows he's capable of a better game. And him and I have had discussions about it, and I think he's inspired with the opportunity to bring a better version of himself. And I told him when I became his coach that I was going to do everything in my power to help him become the best version of himself.

"And not only is that good for the New York Rangers, it's also good for the U.S. team. He's a Norris Trophy winner, and he's a young guy. He's not ageing out. He's capable of an elite game. And it's our job as coaching staff to help him get there. And we're certainly going to do everything we can to do for that, but we think, we believe, that Foxy's capable of a next-level game. A Norris Trophy-caliber game. You don't win the Norris Trophy if you're not capable of that, and we believe he still is."

Mike Sullivan Is Ready To Turn Things Around For The New York Rangers

Since the New York Rangers hired Mike Sullivan at the beginning of the offseason, he has made it clear that he is not messing around and that he will turn things around for the organization.
Truly something the New York Rangers need as they look to bounce back this season and return back to a contending team.
