The New York Rangers are reportedly in negotiations with 22-goal scoring forward, and UFA Jack Roslovic. Last season, Roslovic played for the Carolina Hurricanes and thrived in Rod Brind'Amour's system. Can GM Chris Drury get him for an affordable price?![Jack Roslovic]()
The New York Rangers need to acquire all of the meaningful depth that they can in the event they do make it to the postseason. That requires adding depth who can slot in anywhere up and down the lineup.
That's where GM Chris Drury comes in, as it appears that the team and UFA Jack Roslovic, who scored 39 points (22-17) for the Hurricanes last season, are in negotiations.
That is what has been reported by Roger Hicks, NHL Insider on "X".
Jack Roslovic's Last Report on August 12th
«Jack Roslovic, coming off of a career-high 22-goal season last year at the Carolina Hurricanes. There seemed to be some thought out there, some whisper that Jack Roslovic has a deal in place somewhere; they just haven't announced it yet. Checked in on multiple fronts this morning, Tuesday, August 12th, on that. I'm told the Roslovic camp does not have a deal in place anywhere, but they are getting closer.
It appears that the New York Rangers could be the ones to sign the former 39-point forward.
Last season, he made $2.8 million AAV in the Hurricanes organization, but wasn't given a new contract by Eric Tulski.
For Roslovic, this would be a return to the Rangers, where he saw a limited amount of time on the ice wearing the Blueshirt.
Roslovic played only 19 games for the Rangers and scored 8 points (3-5). Could a 2nd stint in New York work in his favor?
