Kristen Doute Reveals Which Summer House Star She Enlisted as Her Wedding Planner, Plus Her 1 'Rule' - lulu

Kristen Doute has enlisted a Bravolebrity to be her wedding planner.

Doute, who got engaged to The Valley costar Luke Broderick in September 2024, chatted with PEOPLE about how wedding planning is coming along at the At Home with Narwal summer soiree in Los Angeles on Thursday, Aug. 21.

"We've just started talking about the wedding," Doute, 42, tells PEOPLE. "It has been on a back burner for a really long time."

While many wedding details aren't set in stone, the Vanderpump Rules alum has locked down her wedding planner.

"I'm always at Brittany [Cartwright]'s house and we were hanging out at Brittany's and our friend, Stephen McGee, who is on Summer House season 1, he immediately just got into... It's like all of his intuition was into my brain and my emotions," Doute says. "He's like, what about this place or this many people? And all of a sudden I'm going, 'Stephen, you're a freaking wedding planner. Will you be my wedding planner?' "

She continues: "I honestly proposed to him and he said, 'Yes, I will.' "

After appearing on the first two seasons of Summer House, McGee, 35, moved on from reality TV and is now a New York City-based luxury event planner and consultant. He's produced some of the city's most star-studded events, including the CFDA Fashion Awards and The Met Gala, according to his website.

"Biggest weight off of my chest I've ever felt. And then I told Luke, and Luke was like, 'Thank God,' " Doute says, with Cartwright, 36, adding, "It's the best thing ever."

A few other Bravo stars might be incorporated into the big day.

"I don't know if we're having a wedding party. If I'm having a wedding party, Brittany and Zach will be in," Doute says.

Doute is also "fairly certain" on where she wants her nuptials to take place.

"We're still battling between island and country, which are very different, but I'm feeling more of a country vibe and having acres and land," she explains. "And my whole thing is I want to make it easiest for our guests. That's what makes me the happiest, is that they have inexpensive places to choose from. They can choose an Airbnb or a hotel or whatever they want, or they can drive or they can fly. And so as much as I wanted to do an island and have a lot of people out, it feels more feasible and more us."

One non-negotiable for the bride-to-be is that she doesn't want to wear shoes on her wedding day.

"That's been my only rule from the get-go," she says. "I don't want to wear shoes."

Thursday was Doute's "first night out since September of last year," which was two months before she announced her pregnancy. She and Broderick welcomed daughter Kaia in June.
