Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick clarify their friendship status with Tom Sandoval. The Valley stars answered listener questions during an episode of the couple’s podcast, Balancing Act. Kristen announced “Most of [the questions] had to do with you and Tom Sandoval. This was one that bothered me because it’s [addressed] to me. Why do you allow Luke to be friends with Sandoval?”
Friendship status:
Kristen began, “Luke can always do whatever he wants. There’s no ‘allowing’ or ‘not allowing’ anything. I can tell Luke a preference I have on his friends or whatever.”
“I think people have this narrative in their head that you and Tom Sandoval are bosom buddies. That is such a misconception in a narrative that has grown because when we’ve done the podcast and we have spoken about Vanderpump or when we were doing recaps, you do like to look at both sides of things and my narrative is different because of my past with Tom.”
“I don’t have hate in my heart. I don’t even really dislike Tom at all. Sometimes I just don’t want to touch shit with a ten-foot pole. That’s how I feel. I want the best for Tom.”
Kristen directed her next statement to her ex. “Tom, I’m sure you’re going to hear this and post more shit on Instagram. It’s just hard for me to want to hang out with someone who’s making such shitty decisions.”
The former SURver may not dictate who Luke hangs out with, but she seemingly gives him permission to talk. “Luke, Tom is not your best friend. Do you want to speak about your friendship with Tom?”
Luke entered the chat:
“Tom and I have had fun. We’ve run into each other at the bar more times than we planned to hang out. When we’ve been together, we’ve had a good time. He’s been the same person to me.”
Sarcastically, Luke apologized to the VanderVerse. “I’m sorry to all the listeners who want me to judge him based on everything you’ve seen on Vanderpump Rules. We are more than cordial, more than acquaintances. We’re buddies. For sure.”
Kristen reiterated, “It doesn’t bother me. It’s not like he’s inviting Sandoval to the house so the three of us can have a Kumbaya circle.”
