Jeweler who made Taylor Swift’s $1m ring from Travis Kelce ‘gave away’ engagement weeks ago – but nobody spotted it

THE jeweler tasked with designing Taylor Swift's stunning $1million engagement ring appeared to let slip her fiance Travis Kelce's plans to pop the question weeks ago.

They seemingly "gave away" the 35-year-old's romantic gesture towards the Lover songstress with a series of killer clues - yet their savvy comments went unnoticed.Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce embracing in a garden.

It came after Travis' dad Ed Kelce, 74, told how the fan-favourite stars have been secretly engaged for two weeks.

Taylor and Travis, both 35, dropped the happy news of their proposal on Instagram on Tuesday, with pictures of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on one knee with a sparkly diamond ring.

The U.S. Sun revealed last summer that Travis, who Lover songstress Taylor, started dating in 2023, had his eyes on a diamond ring which is worth $1million according to experts.

Lorna Haddon, Head of Diamonds and Jewellery at Beaverbrooks, said: “The ring’s vintage aesthetic is unmistakable and appears to be an antique elongated cushion-cut 5-7ct diamond, set on a gold band with diamond-set shoulders which beautifully frame the central stone.

“From the images alone, I’d anticipate the ring could easily be upwards of half a million – a fitting statement piece for one of pop’s most iconic superstars.”

The band was co-designed by Travis with the help of top Paris designer Kindred Lubeck and is reportedly an old mine brilliant-cut ring from Artifex Fine Jewelry.

That specific type of diamond was especially popular in the 18th and 19th centuries and each one is completely unique.

They are hand-cut meaning no two are alike.

The diamonds are also known for their cushion-like shape, rounded corners and chunky facets.

Lubeck’s rings for Artifex Fine generally range in price but they start from $4,300 dollars for a signet style with a North Star motif.

Yet it is the wording of the brand's new collection which appears to have given a hint as to the pair's happy news WEEKS ago.

Artifex’s website is now currently showcasing a new collection called From The Vault.

As loyal Swifties will know, it is a phrase used by Willow songstress Taylor about her previously unreleased tracks on her Taylor's version albums, which she re-recorded when she gained control of her own music rights.

Last month, the jeweler also seemingly teased another clue and they posted a social media video accompanied by the caption: "Call it what you want but I’m never going for just ‘beautiful.'"

This could be a reference to her track Call It What You Want from her sixth album Reputation.

Meanwhile, further details on Taylor's $1million ring have also come to light.

The U.S. Sun exclusively reported last year that Travis was working tirelessly to find the perfect ring for the Cruel Summer singer and sourced the opinions of friends and experts.

"It probably took more than 40 shop visits and 100 Zoom calls and meetings with jewelry experts to find what he looked for," the insider told us.

Experts have since advised that the huge ring could be worth between $750,000 up to $1 million.

TOP CHOICE

Nilesh Rakholia, Jewellery Expert and Founder of London-based fine jewelers Abelini has told how Travis' choice signaled "serious commitment."

He told The Sun: "What we're witnessing extends far beyond jewellery trends.

"Swift's engagement ring choice reflects a generation's relationship with authenticity, craftsmanship, and personal expression.

"The playful social media announcement—'Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married'—paired with such a thoughtfully chosen ring demonstrates how modern romance balances accessibility with luxury, humour with serious commitment."

SWEET REVEAL

Fans of the pair were convinced the engagement was pending following a series of key clues.

Celebrities including Princess Kate and Prince William have also shown their support and shared in their happiness.

The blockbuster news was announced via Instagram, when Taylor posted a series of high-production engagement photos.

Travis was seen on one knee staring up adoringly at Taylor, the huge diamond ring, and a few very sweet pics of them cuddling up.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," Taylor said in the caption.

The engagement announcement came just over a week before the start of the NFL season.

Although she turned off comments on her Instagram post, fans flocked to X to fawn over the beautiful photos.

Now, details of their potential wedding plans have come to light.

The U.S. Sun has already revealed their love of Italy, and in particular, the beautiful Lake Como, where possible love nests have already been looked at.
