Southern Charm stars Craig Conover and Austen Kroll are trading in champagne toasts on reality TV for the real thing with their latest project, The Waverly – Charleston’s newest wedding and event venue.
The longtime friends and business partners, already behind the restaurant and bar By The Way, teamed up with Uptown Hospitality Group once again to create a space designed for every moment of a couple’s big weekend — from bachelorette parties and welcome dinners to sunset ceremonies and afterparties.
“After my brother’s wedding in Charleston last fall, I couldn’t stop thinking about how special it is to celebrate here,” Craig exclusively tells Parade. “Being part of The Waverly from the ground up has been an exciting opportunity to create the kind of venue I would want for my own friends and family. It’s well designed, thoughtfully laid out, and complete with details that I’m looking for in a wedding venue myself one day, like bridal and groom’s suites. Everything is tailored to make the day even more memorable for the wedding party.”
Austen tells us, “Charleston is one of the top wedding destinations in the country, and I’ve always wanted to play a part of someone’s special day in some way, so this is something I’m really excited about! The Waverly is my second venture here in Charleston with Craig and the team at Uptown Hospitality Group, and it’s been amazing to work together again to bring something so special to the city we love.”
While they’ve been quietly involved since The Waverly’s early planning days, the duo are now stepping into the spotlight to show off the space, which features a stylish central reception hall, a breezy open-air veranda, private bridal and groom suites, and a lush lawn perfect for ceremonies.
