Teddi Mellencamp has shared a new update on her battle with stage 4 brain cancer, revealing the toll that immunotherapy has taken on her body.

The 44-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star opened up during the Wednesday, July 23 episode of her podcast Two Ts in a Pod, co-hosted with Tamra Judge, explaining that the treatment has made her feel “sicker” as she continues to fight the disease.

“Basically, what we’ve figured out is, yeah, at first I felt great,” Mellencamp said. “I could attend all the support groups, do all these things, go to my daughter’s horse shows, be home alone — I felt really strong.”

She continued:

“But what’s happening now is that the longer I’m on immunotherapy, the sicker I get.”

Mellencamp was first diagnosed with melanoma in 2022. In February of this year, she underwent surgery to remove several brain tumors after suffering from “debilitating headaches and weakness.” By March, she updated fans on Instagram that doctors had found three more tumors in her brain and two in her lungs, noting:

“All of them are directly related to the melanoma.”

On Wednesday’s podcast, Mellencamp explained that after consulting with her doctors, she would be temporarily stopping immunotherapy because it was taking too much of a toll on her body.

“So we’re going to pause immunotherapy for a little while to let my body get stronger again,” she said. “I’m on steroids, and we’re doing everything we can to help me feel like I can do this — like I can still do everything.”

The podcast host said there are still days when she has the energy to do what she used to, but other days are much harder. She also shared that she sometimes experiences memory issues, which makes recapping Real Housewives episodes on the podcast more challenging.

“I don’t want to fill up your feeds with cancer talk — I know it can be a downer,” she said. “But I also want people to know that if you’re going through something like this, things change — and that’s okay.”

“The hardest part for me is waking up and realizing, ‘Oh, I can’t do what I did yesterday,’ or, ‘Oh, I can’t do what I did three weeks ago.’”

Mellencamp also acknowledged that her diagnosis has deeply affected her family — including her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave and their children. (The couple, who announced their separation in November 2024, share Slate (12), Cruz (10), and Dove (4). Mellencamp is also a stepmother to Edwin’s eldest daughter, Isabella (15).)

“It’s changed my kids’ lives. It’s also changed my relationship with Edwin,” she said.
“Everyone knows we filed for divorce. Nothing has changed, except that we had to pause because of my health issues. But he’s had to step in and help me, because there are days when I just can’t do it.”
