Jim Edmondsâ wife, Kortnie, reportedly called police and filed a restraining order after his ex-wife, âReal Housewives of Orange Countyâ alum Meghan King, allegedly entered their Missouri home months ago.
According to documents obtained by Us Weekly Wednesday, the reality TV star, 40, had been âto the residence several times throughout the day and was currently on scene causing a disturbanceâ back on May 1.
Officers noted in the Frontenac Police Department incident report that they spotted King leaving the house in a Jeep â after they were notified she was leaving the scene in the vehicle.
The report stated that after pulling her over, âMeghan advised she had contacted her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, earlier in the day to arrange the clothing drop offâ for their daughter. The ex-spouses share kids Aspen, 8, and twins Hart and Hayes, 7.
âMeghan contacted Jimâs current wife, Kortnie Edmondsâ to arrange to drop off a dress for an event. A source for Us Weekly claimed the dress was a communion dress and that King was on her way to St. Louis for an art event.
Kourtnie told police that King arrived around 5 p.m. and ârang the doorbellâ repeatedly despite Kourtnieâs assertion that she was expected to âleave [the dress] at the doorstep.â
âMeghan refused to hand Kortnie the dress and âpulled away and asked to speak toâ [her daughter,]â the report continued.
âKortnie told Meghan that she wasnât home and she was at a baseball game with Jim,â after which, according to Kortnie, âMeghan became upset.â Kortnie said she closed the front door after requesting that King leave the dress.
Kortnie claimed in the docs that after going back inside the house, she âheard Meghan inside the home yelling for [her daughter.]â
âKortnie walked back to the front door and observed Meghan standing inside the house approximately 5 feet from the doorway,â the report continued, after which she claimed she told King to âget out of [her] house.â
After King âslowlyâ exited the home, she âwedged her foot in the door briefly so Kortnie couldnât shut the door completely. After Meghan moved her foot, Kortnie closed the door,â the report stated, recounting Kortnieâs claims.
Kortnie later decided she wanted to âpress charges for harassmentâ and subsequently called police. Her husband, Jim, who arrived following the alleged encounter, told law enforcement that he was in possession of video of the alleged incident.
According to the officerâs report, the Frontenac Municipal Prosecutor ârefusedâ to pursue charges against King and called the incident a domestic dispute.
The case is now classified as âinactive,â though documents reveal that Kortnie filed a restraining order against King. According to Us Weekly, in June, a consent order was agreed upon, stipulating that neither Kortnie nor King would come within 150 feet of each other at events and activities for the children.
An additional agreement stated that the reality TV star would refrain from mentioning her ex-husbandâs wife in social media posts.
An insider told the outlet that Kingâs agreement came in an effort to avoid lengthy proceedings over the alleged incident.
A rep for the TV personality told Us Weekly, âThe recent incident involving Meghan King has been mischaracterized,â adding that âMeghan was simply attempting to drop off her daughterâs dress at the request of Jim Edmonds and in coordination regarding their childâs needs.â
âMeghan briefly called to her daughter from the doorway, never stepped inside, had the door slammed in her face, and calmly left her belongings on the porch,â they added. âUpon leaving, she was unexpectedly blocked by multiple police vehicles and treated in a way that felt unnecessarily hostile.â
âThere is a long public record of police reports and [restraining orders] in this matter that show Meghan is the one who has required protection â not the other way around. It should also be noted that Meghan has had primary responsibility for her children for some time now, with the other sideâs involvement limited to select occasions,â the statement read.
âMeghan recognizes she is not alone â many women post-relationship face turmoil and untruths, especially when financial resources already create a personal dynamic of an uneven playing field,â the statement continued, adding that âthere is video footage of this incident, and Meghan wishes it would be shared publicly to clarify the truth.â
The statement said that King feels the situation is âprofoundly sadâ and that she wonât âcomment furtherâ on the matter.
âOut of respect and protection for her children â who are old enough to read and understand what is said publicly â she chooses silence beyond this statement. Her only priority remains the well-being and stability of her kids,â they concluded the statement.
A rep for Jim and Kourtnie told Us Weekly that they intended to âlet the facts speak for themselves.â
Jim and King were married from 2014 to 2019, when Jim filed for divorce from the Bravolebrity. They finalized their contentious split in 2021.
Jim went on to marry Kortnie in 2022.
