![Bethenny Frankel Reveals Her “Cushy Contract” During RHONY & Talks Pay Rate as Source Denies Some of Her Claims]()
Bethenny Frankel revealed her “cushy contract” with Bravo during her second stint on Real Housewives of New York, and she claimed she had control over “the way I wanted to shoot.” Soon after, a source denied part of her claims.
Bethenny, an original castmate, left the show after season four, but she returned in season seven. Before her return, she apparently scored a generous contract with the salary of her choosing. Years after she quit again, Bethenny accused the network of mistreating its stars.
“When I was going back to Housewives, I asked for anything I wanted,” recalled Bethenny in an interview with Us Weekly. “They asked me what I wanted. I asked for it. I got it.”
“My contract was anything I wanted to the days I wanted to shoot, the hours I wanted to shoot, the way I wanted to shoot, the money I wanted to get,” she continued. “I had a very cushy contract.”
She addressed her biggest priority.
“The most important things were, if I had my daughter on those days, if it was my custody days, if it was my custody time for a vacation, I would be able to leave,” she explained. “It created some resentment, but I was able to come to a cast trip two days late, leave two days early. I would maximize the most of the content when I was there.”
Now, Bethenny is selective when it comes to certain projects.
“I’ve been asked to go on so many television shows, and I’ve declined because of the time,” said the star. “Someone just recently asked me to do a show with them. They’re pretty famous, and we could get a show. But, like, I don’t want that bulk. I don’t want the bulk of the suits. I don’t want the bulk of the camera, the shooting, the hair, the makeup, the editing. It’s just too bulky. It would be a very specific situation, and it would have to be an astronomical sum … Definitely seven figures for a couple of months.”
Bethenny said she has been offered seven figures in the past.
“But then when I’ve thought about the time suck, I feel like I’m Linda Evangelista,” she added, mentioning the accomplished supermodel. “Now you’re going to get me out of this house with makeup on? It’s gonna be a real number. It’s gonna be a real number.”
Regarding her contract claims, an insider speaking to Page Six said it’s “not true that [Frankel] called the shots over everything.”
“It’s nice to see Bethenny finally acknowledge that she was treated with respect and with genuine empathy for the situation she was in at the time,” the source added.
