‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Fans ‘Utterly Disappointed’ In Season 10

Bachelor In Paradise fans waited almost two years for a new season. The popular spinoff was put on pause after Season 9 in 2023. The season ended in multiple engagements and relationships, but they all ended within days of the season finale airing in November. ABC took the show off the air to revamp it. But now fans are “utterly disappointed” in Season 10. Why?

Bachelor In Paradise Adds Cash Prize

ABC made a few major changes to the look and feel of Bachelor In Paradise. They updated the cameras, giving the show a more visually appealing look. Some fans think it’s too much like Peacock’s Love Island USA.

In addition to the editing and camera shots, it seems the network stole the idea of dangling a cash prize. Jesse Palmer hasn’t said so yet, but many fans speculate that the final couple will have to choose between love or money. Fans already feel the money is bringing out the worst in the Season 10 contestants.

Fans Slam New Location, Want Old Resort Back

Another unexpected change was the location. The first nine seasons were filmed in Mexico. Seasons 2 through 9 were filmed at the Playa Escondida resort in Sayulita, Mexico. However, the resort was sold after Season 9 and the new owners allegedly didn’t want Bachelor In Paradise filmed there anymore.

Instead of looking for another location in Mexico, the show moved to Costa Rica. The contestants got a major upgrade in digs, including air-conditioned rooms shared with one roommate instead of everyone bunking together in the same room.

The air-conditioned rooms were reportedly due to the Golden contestants joining the show. The network felt it was a safety issue for the seniors to get stuck in the heat. But giving the contestants cozier accommodations has reduced the drama, one fan wrote on social media.

“Previously, we’ve seen contestants crash out over the heat, forced proximity, wildlife, LACK OF SLEEP, and we just don’t get that here,” they wrote.

The fan added, “We see contestants constantly retreating to their air-conditioned rooms and even NAPPING.”

While a lot of other fans said they didn’t want to watch the contestant suffer the elements, one fan wrote, “It’s missing a distinctly beachy vibe. The setting feels so corporate and bland this season.”

“I also miss the random shots of the cute crabs at the old location,” another fan said.

‘Utterly Disappointed’ In Season 10

Bachelor In Paradise fans are fed up with this season. Many have stopped watching completely. One disgruntled fan took to social media with a poll of what other former fans did during the latest episode.

Did they fast forward, skip the elimination, watch in “utter disappointment,” or vow not to watch another episode?

One fan responded, “The back and forth in the rooms… I was like, this is NOT what I watch Paradise for. Where is the whimsy? …Where are the crabs chasing people?”

Another said, “My wife was begging me to fast forward to the rose ceremony.”

According to TV Series Finale, Season 10 of Bachelor In Paradise brings in about 1 million viewers each week. There was a step decline in ratings for last week’s episode compared to the previous week.

The ratings clearly reflected that the changes ABC made to the spinoff haven’t improved ratings like they hoped it would. Do you see Bachelor In Paradise returning for Season 11? Sound off in the comments.
