Adriana de Moura and Kiki Barth engaged in a messy encounter on Thursday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Miami, with Adriana slamming Kiki as “ratchet” and Kiki firing back by declaring that Adriana was “too old” to be speaking in that manner.
After Adriana, 58, spilled the beans about Lisa Hochstein, 43, unfollowing Larsa Pippen‘s ex-boyfriend, Marcus Jordan, 34, on Instagram during a group dinner, a war of words erupted between the ladies. And, after the episode played out, the cast weighed in on the dispute.
“Every time we sit down at the dinner table to enjoy our meal … certain women … probably the ones that don’t wanna eat … want to ruin it,” Alexia Nepola, 58, began on the August 21 episode of the RHOM: After Show.
According to Stephanie Shojaee, 40, it wasn’t a big deal that Adriana leaked the news.
“It wasn’t like a huge secret, and I think what Adriana did was not wrong … I do, however, think Kiki was stirring the pot,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Adriana insisted she was simply “happy” that the Instagram drama between Lisa and Larsa, 51, was potentially over.
“I was just excited and I forgot about [the pact],” she stated.
But Kiki, 36, didn’t like that Adriana broke their agreement because she “wanted it to be a surprise to Larsa.” So, she decided to call her out in front of the women.
“You know what Kiki could’ve done? She could’ve been like, ‘Cheers, great news. Problems solved. Let’s fix the relationship.’ Instead, it turned into like a sh*t show,” Stephanie recalled.
After Kiki lashed out at Adriana, Adriana threw out her “ratchet” diss, which took Guerdy Abraira, 47, and Marysol Patton, 58, by surprise.
“I’ve heard a lot of low sh*t come out of her mouth, but that was a new low … That’s unacceptable,” Marysol stated as Alexia described the comment as “out of place” and “inappropriate.”
Equally as taken aback was Kiki.
“I was very shocked that out of every single word, she would call me ratchet … she could’ve picked any other word. I don’t mind. I’ve been called everything in the book, but it’s like, still, I think I’m classy. I know how to behave. Yeah, I make sex jokes, yes, I have fun, I pee on the beach, but I couldn’t believe that she said that,” she shared. “That was very serious for me, like, ‘What?’ When anybody say anything to me, I react. I’m always gonna have a comeback.“
“Anybody that know me know I don’t hold grudges but when somebody say to me, I have quick comeback and after that, I’ll be the first one to apologize. And me calling her old was not on my list … it just, ‘Oh you ratchet,’ ‘Oh, well, you’re old.’ Now we even,” Kiki added.
While Julia Lemigova, 53, didn’t have as much of a reaction to the diss, she explained that she remained calm because she didn’t know what “ratchet” meant.
Even Adriana suggested that she didn’t know what the word meant, saying that she “meant miserable,” but Larsa disagreed.
“Adriana definitely knows what the word ratchet means,” Larsa insisted, adding that it was “mean” of Kiki to call Adriana “old” since “Adriana is really sensitive about her age.”
Although some felt that Kiki was age-shaming, which Kiki denied, Alexia said she understood where she was coming from as she attempted to explain her co-star’s intent.
“I get what Kiki was trying to say. Like, ‘I didn’t expect that from you because you’re from a different generation. That’s not a word of choice, so if you’re selecting that word, it was on purpose. It was to hurt me and it was to insult me,’” she suspected.
Still, Adriana found Kiki’s “old” diss “hurtful.”
“It wasn’t the first time she said it. She actually said it when we had the double yachts … She said it one night … And she was telling this person, ‘Oh my god, Adriana’s so old, she’s like as old as my mom,’” she revealed.
According to Marysol, she found it hypocritical for Adriana to be offended by the shade when she had treated her similarly in the past.
“I find it rich, extremely rich, because Adriana literally chased me around a yacht, you’re older than me, and what’s wrong with you body shaming someone?” she wondered as Julia echoed the sentiments.
“I said to [Adriana], ‘Listen, you called Marysol old and much, much worse than that,’ and then she was like, ‘Marysol and I are kind of the same age. We can talk like this to each other, but Kiki and I is different.’ It’s kind of a twisted way in Adriana’s head,” Julia stated.
In closing, Kiki reasoned, “I’m learning now sometimes people, they attack other people with certain things because they’re insecure about it, but why do it to someone if you don’t want it done to you? If I dish it, I can take it. That’s how I see it.”
